GOFO Highlights Shifts in U.S. Parcel Delivery at PARCEL Forum 2026, Releases New Industry White Paper
PR Newswire
ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 24, 2026
ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — GOFO, a technology-driven last-mile delivery carrier, released its 2026 industry white paper, “How Fragmenting E-Commerce Is Rebuilding the U.S. Last Mile,” at PARCEL Forum ’26, held Sept. 14–16 at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando. The report examines how shifts in e-commerce demand, carrier strategy and fulfillment models are producing a more diversified U.S. parcel market.
During the event, Vincent D’Amato, GOFO’s Chief Sales Officer for North America, represented the company in a regional-carrier panel and a presentation on speed, flexibility and intelligent automation in last-mile delivery.
The U.S. Parcel Market Is Becoming More Diversified
The release comes as the structure of U.S. parcel delivery continues to evolve. E-commerce volume is increasingly distributed across marketplaces, platforms, direct-to-consumer brands and a wider range of fulfillment models, creating more varied requirements for pickup, delivery, system integration and network coordination.
At the same time, carrier strategies and service models are becoming more differentiated. For shippers, this means considering a broader range of factors when designing parcel networks, including geographic coverage, service levels, pricing structures, fulfillment compatibility, technology integration and operational flexibility.
GOFO’s white paper examines these developments as part of a broader evolution in the U.S. parcel market. The report looks at how changes in e-commerce demand, fulfillment structures and carrier strategies are contributing to a more diverse set of delivery models and operating requirements.
GOFO White Paper Examines a Broader Mix of Carrier Options
The white paper highlights several market indicators that help illustrate the changing composition of the U.S. parcel market. U.S. domestic parcel volume reached 23.9 billion packages in 2025, while UPS, FedEx and USPS together represented approximately 61% of total volume.
At the same time, ShipMatrix’s “Other Carriers” category, which includes a range of regional and alternative providers, reached roughly 2.5 billion packages in 2025, representing year-over-year growth of approximately 13%.
The report examines this growth in the context of a parcel market serving increasingly varied operating models. Platforms, marketplaces, cross-border sellers and independent brands can have different volume patterns, fulfillment structures and service requirements. As these needs become more diverse, regional and next-generation carriers are becoming part of a broader set of delivery options available to shippers, often alongside national carrier networks.
The white paper also includes case studies involving TikTok, Dr. Squatch, ShipMonk and Walmart Marketplace to illustrate how carrier requirements can differ across platform fulfillment, cross-border logistics, carrier transitions and marketplace delivery programs.
GOFO Discusses Regional Carriers and Intelligent Automation at PARCEL Forum
These market developments were also central to GOFO’s participation at PARCEL Forum.
During the panel “Regional Carriers: The New Power Players in Parcel Delivery,” Vincent D’Amato joined representatives from GLS and Jitsu, with Amine Khechfe serving as host, to discuss the evolving role of regional carriers in shipper networks. The conversation explored how regional providers can complement national carrier networks by offering additional choice, flexibility and service options across different markets, fulfillment models and parcel-volume patterns.
On the second day of the conference, D’Amato presented “Speed, Flexibility & Intelligent Automation: The New Last-Mile Advantage,” exploring how technology can support faster and more coordinated operating decisions across parcel networks.
The presentation covered the use of intelligent automation across routing, sortation, pickup, visibility, capacity planning and exception management. It also examined how technology and operational flexibility can support parcel networks as they respond to changing volumes, fulfillment models and service requirements.
Together, the two sessions reflected several themes examined in GOFO’s white paper, including a more diversified carrier landscape, more flexible fulfillment models and the growing use of intelligent automation in last-mile delivery.
